After a comfortable night, you'll enjoy a hearty breakfast and mid-morning ride to Muddy Paw Sled Dog Kennel. Guided Horseback Trail Rides!

Our guided trail rides are a wonderful way to explore and enjoy the Great North Woods of New Hampshire. Our skilled guides and well-trained horses will offer even the most novice rider a safe and enjoyable experience.  We provide you with well trained horses which suit all skill levels. We have handpicked our horses for their calm temperament, athletic ability, and willingness to please. You will begin with an orientation so you will feel comfortable with your horse and in your saddle once on the trail. Our trail rides are around an hour long. 

Our rides are on our trails which double as Nordic ski trails in winter. Our trails wind through softwood forest, a developing Christmas tree plantation, and an industrial forest.   Views of the Mahoosuc Range will appear through the tree tops as you ride along. You'll experience the solitude of this area and the feeling of freedom only horseback riding can give.

This is one of the best opportunities to view and hear about some of the abundant wildlife that live in northern NH.  The wildlife that has been spotted or heard along the trails include:   white-tailed deer, moose, turkey, bobcat, coyote, rabbits, bald eagle, and black bear. Our knowledgeable guides will share information on the natural features of the area you are travelling through.  If you love horses and you love nature, this is the perfect adventure for you.

Guided Trail Rides are $45.00 per person*

For safety reasons, we do have rules and restrictions.

• We cannot allow riders younger than 8 years, as safety is our first priority.
• The minimum height of a rider is 4 feet.
• The maximum weight of a rider is 250 pounds
• All riders must be able to control their horse and to follow the guide’s instructions.  Riders who fail to do so, or the guide declares is not able to do so will not be allowed to ride.  
• Riders must arrive 30 minutes prior to their scheduled ride time to complete paper work. If riders do not arrive on time they may miss their scheduled departure and will be treated as a cancellation.
• Riders under the age of 18 must have a legal guardian to complete paperwork with them. 
• For safety reasons, no cameras or phones allowed on horseback rides.
• Pets may NOT accompany trail rides.
• All riders are required to wear an ASTM/SEI approved helmet, which we do provide.
• Long pants and sturdy, closed toe & heel shoes are required.  Boots or closed shoes with a small heel are preferred.  Bug spray & sunscreen recommended.
• Cash or Credit Card Payment is due upon arrival.

Stable Policy

It is the responsibility of the client to book rides in good faith and show up at the required time. Clients must adhere to all signs on the property, and follow the direction of staff at all times, before, during and after riding. The client is responsible for his/her conduct, and must follow barn rules as posted and as instructed by staff and guides.  Children must be supervised by an adult at all times. We are pet friendly, but ask that all dogs remain on a leash, under an adult’s control, and cleaned up after. Pets may NOT accompany trail rides, be in the barn, around the horses, or in the ring.  Failure to follow the rules and instructions will lead to forfeiture of trail ride with no refund of deposit or payment.

Cancellation Policy

If you have any questions concerning this policy, please inquire at the time you make your reservation.

• If we cancel a trail ride due to weather, horses, or trail conditions, we will reschedule your trail ride to the earliest mutually convenient time.
• If you need to cancel 2 weeks before your ride, then your deposit may be applied towards a reschedule within 1 year
• If you cancel 13 days or less, or you are a 'no show', then your deposit will NOT be applied towards a reschedule.
• All deposits are nonrefundable.

Reservation Policy

A 50% deposit is required when your reservation is made and can be made by cash or credit card.  All deposits are nonrefundable.  Reservations are accepted with the understanding that our rules, policies, and restrictions are fully understood and will be followed.
